Srinagar, February 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police arrested a prominent Hurriyat activist in Kupwara district.
A police team arrested the Hurriyat activist, Muhammad Akram Najar, during a night raid at Kralgund in Handwara area of the district.
A police officer said Akram is an APHC activist and was evading arrest since 2015. He is accused of being involved in pro-freedom activities.
On the other hand, unknown gunmen shot at and injured a civilian, Lateef Ahmed, in Nowpora area of Tral.
Meanwhile, Indian troops launched a cordon and search operation at Rafiabad in Baramulla district. The door-to-door search was conducted by a joint team of Indian army’s 22 Rashtriya Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force and Special Operation Group in Rehmat Abad area of Rafiabad.
