Srinagar, February 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai has strongly condemned the arson, vandalism and brutal assault on Jammu Muslim community particularly on Kashmiris by Hindu extremists.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar urged law enforcing agencies and civil administration to ensure protection to all sections of people without being biased. He said no one other than Kashmiris can feel the pain of bereaved families better than them, as they have been passing through this grief since decades.

Ashraf Sehrai called recent attacks perpetrated against the Kashmiri and local Muslims in Jammu by the Hindus affiliated with extremists groups only to increase the tension in Kashmir. Don’t use tit for tat as an excuse to harm, attack and harass Jammu Muslims, he added.

The TeH Chairman said the perpetrated attacks against Muslims are a convenient tool for many parties for the upcoming general elections. He said Muslims are feeling vulnerable in Jammu and the fanatic elements are selectively targeting the community without any reason, when Kashmiris’ history is testimony that they neither celebrated nor rejoiced death and destruction even of the enemies. “At the same time when we receive bags of dead bodies on daily basis,” he added.

While appealing for restraint from all sides, he said there is no justification to attack vehicles and other properties of Muslim community or to attack stranded Kashmiris for none of their fault.

Meanwhile, spokesman of Jamaat-e-Islami of occupied Kashmir in a statement in Srinagar said the way Hindu fanatic have created an atmosphere to harass and intimidate the Muslims in Jammu and damage their property is condemnable. He said dozens of vehicles belonging to Kashmiri Muslims were doused into flames by the Hindu fanatics before the eyes of police and Muslim populated areas and Masajid were stoned in presence of the policemen who did not bother to stop the mob from committing vandalism and unlawful activities.
