Professor suspended over Facebook post on Lethpora blast

Guwahati, February 17 (KMS): A college professor was suspended over a Facebook post after she blamed the Indian army for atrocities on civilians in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

An Assistant Professor of the English department at Guwahati’s Icon Academy Junior College, Papri Banerjee on February 14, had said the army was involved in carnage in the valley.

The Professor was put under the suspension and reportedly has received many threats of rape and lynching on the social media.

Banerjee said that she received threats and intimidation over the post from different users. “Continuous rape, lynch, and death threats in my inbox. Assam Police should go back to the names in my previous FIR if any harm were to come over me. They would be solely responsible,” she said in another Facebook post, the report mentioned.
