IOK will shut on hearing day of pleas against Article 35A

Srinagar, February 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people, today, participated in the funeral prayers of the youth martyred by Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in Pinglena area of Pulwama district.

The troops killed Hilal Ahmad Naiko and Mushtaq Ahmad Butt along with two other youth during the operation, which was backed by Indian army’s gunship helicopters, yesterday. Over a dozen houses were destroyed in the shelling by the troops. As the bodies of the martyrs were brought to their hometown, Pinglena, thousands of mourners converged in the village and participated in their last rites. Multiple rounds of funerals were held, while the martyrs were buried amid pro-freedom, pro-Pakistan and anti-India slogans. »

Dinner hosted in honour of AJK PM, MEPs in Brussels

Brussels, February 19 (KMS): As another sign of international community’s attention towards the Kashmir dispute, the European Parliament is going to hold an historic hearing on the human rights abuses in occupied Kashmir in Brussels, later today.

The hearing will be led by a UN expert. The exchange of views will take place in the human rights committee and will focus on the UN report condemning the human rights abuses in IOK. »

Srinagar, February 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the fear among Muslims in Jammu can be gauged from the fact that the Jammu Muslim Waqf Council has closed its doors for the Kashmiris who are facing attacks in the city.

The Muslim Waqf Council, which comes under the Ministry of Hajj and Auqaf, is denying help to Kashmiris who are being targeted in Jammu.

Majid Jehangir, Chief Executive Officer State Waqf Council and Special Officer at Jammu Auqaf, said, “We have shrines and mosques, but they are not safe for people, we have to look for a safer place for these people. The mobs have torched the vehicles; we have to keep that in mind also. As of now only Bathindi is safe and Kashmiris have been accommodated in a mosque there.” »

Islamabad, February 19 (KMS): Below is the text of the letter that Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi addressed to the UN Secretary General:

“It is with a sense of urgency that I draw your attention to the deteriorating security situation in our region resulting from the threat of use of force against Pakistan by India.

The Pulwama attack on Indian Central Reserve Police Force was ostensibly and even by Indian accounts carried out by a Kashmiri resident of Indian Occupied Kashmir. Attributing it to Pakistan even before investigations is absurd. »

Srinagar, February 19 (KMS): Over hundred traders from Kashmir Valley have been forced to close their shops in Indian state of Haryana.

A number of callers told media men in Srinagar that the owners of their rented accommodations had asked them to vacate the facilities at Ramgarh in Panchkula district of the state, saying that they had been continuously pressurized by the locals not to allow Kashmiris to stay there. »

New Delhi, February 19 (KMS): A Delhi court has sought a response from the Enforcement Directorate on the bail plea of senior resistance leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah.

The plea was moved before Additional Sessions Judge Satish Kumar Arora on the ground of parity after the Delhi High Court recently granted bail to Mohammad Aslam Wani in the case. »
