IOK traders protest against attacks on Kashmiris

Srinagar, February 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, traders, today, held a strong protest demonstration in Lal Chowk, Srinagar, against the attacks on Kashmiris in Jammu and different Indian states.

The traders downed the shutters of their shops and assembled around Clock Tower (Ghanta Ghar).

The traders while raising slogans strongly denounced the communal attacks against the Kashmiris putting up in different cities of India.

Meanwhile, senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi in a statement in Srinagar condemned the attacks on Kashmiris in Jammu and different Indian states. He said parents of Kashmiri students send their children to India for study and they have no other motive. He said attacking the innocent Kashmiri students is the worst kind of state terrorism.

He also thanked the Sikh community and other peace-loving people for facilitating and coopering with the Kashmiris during attacks on them in different parts of India.

The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM), Zafar Akbar Butt in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly condemned the attacks on the Kashmiris. He said the people of Kashmir are peace-loving and want peaceful settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute.

The spokesman of Islami Tanzeem Azadi in a statement in Srinagar termed the attacks by Hindu fanatics on Kashmiris in Jammu and different cities of India a well-planned conspiracy. He said the international community should take cognizance of the Indian brutalities on the innocent Kashmiris.

The spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL) in a statement in Srinagar denounced the house arrest of party Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, and other leaders and demanded their immediate release. He said that police on Friday arrived at the residence of Mukhtar Waza and put him under house detention.
