Srinagar, February 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has urged India to shun its war rant and resolve the issues through dialogue.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing a gathering at the historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar, today, said that Kashmiri people would never follow the politics of polarization or communal hatred. He said they would continue to protect the Indian people despite the attacks on Kashmiri students, businessmen and shawl traders in various parts of India. “A non-local resident living in Kashmir is as safe as a common Kashmiri citizen,” he added.
The Mirwaiz said that New Delhi must shun its approach of indulging in a war with Pakistan. He said, “Wars were fought in the past. History is witness that even after deadly wars were fought the final solution to the disputes was found by means of dialogue with all parties on the negotiation table.
He said members of the Sikh community in India should be applauded for opening their hearts to the Kashmiris who faced mob attacks in various parts of India. “I am thankful to Khalsa Aid for opening Gurdwaras and managing vehicles for Kashmiris to travel back to their homes,” he said.
