Gilani resents OIC invitation to Swaraj

Srinagar, February 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, India’s notorious National Investigation Agency, today, conducted widespread raids on the residences of senior resistance leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Muhammad Yasin Malik and Shabbir Ahmed Shah in Srinagar.

The NIA sleuths broke into the Nigeen residence of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and carried out searches. They also conducted similar raids on the residences of Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Zafar Akbar Butt and Dr Nayeem Gilani, the son of APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani.

The Joint Resistance Leadership has called for a two-day complete shutdown from tomorrow against the NIA crackdown on the entire resistance leadership and extensive spree of arrests in the Kashmir valley. The leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said the arrest of thousands of Kashmiri people and threat to the state subject law, Article 35-A, are all acts on the part of India, which are aimed at suppressing the voice of the Kashmiri people by the dint of military might. »

Srinagar, February 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership has called for a two-day strike from tomorrow (Wednesday) against widespread raids of New Delhi-based National Investigation Agency (NIA) against the entire resistance leadership and extensive spree of arrests in every nook and corner of the Kashmir valley.

The leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the arrest of thousands of Kashmiri people and threats to tinker with the state subject law, Article 35-A, were all acts aimed at suppressing the voice of Kashmiris by the dint of military might. »

Srinagar, February 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops launched cordon and search operations in South Kashmir’s Kulgam and Shopian districts, today.

According to Kashmir Media service, the troops launched an operation in Matalhama village in Qaimoh area of Kulgam district. The operation was going on when the last reports came in.

The troops also launched a similar operation in Rawalpora area of Shopian district. The troops sealed all entry and exit points of the area and conducted door-to-door searches. More details are awaited.

Srinagar, February 26: In occupied Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Chairman, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai has said that the brazen display of mass arrests of socio-political and religious leadership and Tehreek-e-Hurriyat workers is a well-designed conspiracy to pave the way for stoking further uncertainty in the territory.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said, it is Delhi’s inflexibility that is responsible for the present crisis in occupied Kashmir. He said defending the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was not confined to a particular region or religion anymore as the people of the entire Jammu and Kashmir have realized its importance and sanctity. “But New Delhi wants to influence the upcoming general elections by raising the issue of Article 35-A and creating a war hysteria for electoral gains.” »

Srinagar, February 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, there is no let-up in the crackdown on Jamaat-e-Islami leaders and activists, as more than 400 JI activists have been detained since Friday.

Deputy Inspector General of Police, Atul Kumar Goel, confirmed the arrest of 200 JI members in South Kashmir alone. The detainees include the elderly and ailing persons.

Sixty-two-year-old deputy Ameer of Jamaat, Ahmadullah Parray Makki, was picked up from his home in Khiram village of Bijbehara along with 15 other JI activists and was lodged in Mattan jail. »

Srinagar, February 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani has reacted sharply to the invitation extended to the Indian External Affairs Minister Shushma Swaraj by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to attend its session.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Muslims in Kashmir are bruised by continued repression and torture. Jammu and Kashmir has been occupied against all moral, ethical, democratic and human norms, leading to unending bloodshed and widespread devastation. Killings, jails, torture, bullets, pellets, rape and molestation have become a usual tool. When all these measures failed, India is now trying to change the demography of Muslim majority Jammu and Kashmir.” »

Srinagar, February 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has strongly denounced the ongoing arrest spree by Indian troops and police in the territory.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar said, undemocratic and illegal arrest spree of religious scholars, resistance leaders and Hurriyat activists continues unabated across valley. He said hundreds of Hurriyat leaders and religious scholars have been arrested in a crackdown launched by Indian police during past few days across the valley. “Use of force only furthers hardening of stand and revolt. Engagement is the only way out.” he said. »

The NIA also raided the residences of illegally detained Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik, and Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party Chairman, Shabbir Ahmed Shah. It also conducted similar raids on the houses of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Salvation Movement Chairman, Zafar Akbar Butt and Dr Nayeem Gilani, the son of APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani. »
