Srinagar, March 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and activists held a protest demonstration in Srinagar, today, against the arrest of Hurriyat leaders, raids by India’s National Investigation Agency and ban in Jamaat-e-Islami of the territory.

Call for the demonstrations was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. »

Srinagar, March 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have welcomed the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan’s decision to release Indian pilot, Abhinandan as peace gesture and said the move will promote peace, security and stability in the region.

Senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, addressing a public gathering in Budgam hailed the decision of the Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan. He said that India should also respond positively. He said Kashmir is the root cause of tension between India and Pakistan which should be settled according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. »

Srinagar, March 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has condemned the ongoing Indian oppression against the unarmed political and religious leaders and parties.

The JKLF in a statement issued in Srinagar denounced the illegal detention of party Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, who has been in police custody since February 22, 2019, and other leaders including Showkat Ahmed Bakhshi, Bashir Ahmed Rathar, Gulzar Ahmed, Mushtaq Ahmed Korag and Nadeem Ahmed. »

Indian troops martyr 27 Kashmiris in Feb, two more today

Srinagar, March 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities imposed restrictions in Srinagar and parts of south Kashmir, today, to prevent people from staging demonstrations against the ban on Jamaat-e-Islami of the territory by the Indian government and raids on the residences of Hurriyat leaders by India’s National Investigation Agency.

The Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik had called for peaceful demonstrations after Juma prayers, today. The JRL in a statement in Srinagar condemning the ban on the Jamaat said that New Delhi’s repressive measures against the Kashmiris had become the order of the day. »

KCEU sends letters to EU parliament members, others

Brussels, March 01 (KMS): The Chairman of Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU), Ali Raza Syed has sent letters to a number of European Union’s higher authorities and members of EU Parliament asking them to play their role in normalizing severe situation in South Asia.

The letters were dispatched to President of the European Council, Donald Franciszek Tusk, President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Mrs Federica Mogherini, members of EU parliament, other EU officials and ambassadors of different influential countries based in Belgium. »

Srinagar, March 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai has said that the US can play a very critical role in de-escalating tension between India and Pakistan and resolving the lingering Kashmir dispute.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said the international community including the US is well aware of the dangers being faced by the region due to the unresolved Kashmir dispute. Srinagar, March 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has termed the fresh wave of NIA raids on the residences of Hurriyat leaders as a well-thought-out plan to malign and implicate leadership in false cases and discredit the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom movement.

A forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned the occupation authorities for stopping the Mirwaiz from addressing media men and placing him under house arrest since Wednesday. He said that such repressive measures would not be able to cow down the leadership. »

Islamabad, March 01 (KMS): The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League (JKPFL) Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has said that India has nefarious designs about Kashmir.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad said recently India in its Hyderabad prison, stoned to death an innocent Pakistani prisoner, Shakirullah, and 45 years back tortured and cut the tongue of a 1965 Pakistani war prisoner, Maqbool Hussain, inflicting on him custodial disappearance for over 40 years against all Geneva protocols and international humanitarian laws. »

Srinagar, March 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association constituted different teams of lawyers, who visited various jails of Jammu district and after meeting with the prisoners submitted a report to the Bar Association.

The HCBA members Bilal Ahmad Wani, Shabbir Ahmad Butt and Hamid Shafi visited the Kathua Jail in Jammu on January 3 and found that the prison authorities were not providing proper medical facilities to the detainees. They found that there was no heating arrangement in the barracks where the prisoners had been lodged due to which the condition of the inmates suffering from various ailments had deteriorated. »
