Srinagar, March 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and activists held protest demonstrations in Srinagar, Budgam and other areas, today, against the detention of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, under Public Safety Act (PSA) and ban on Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir.

On the call of Joint Resistance Leadership a large number of people including Hurriyat leaders and activists staged forceful demonstration in Hyderpora, Maisuma, Soura, Lal Bazar and other areas of Srinagar, today, and staged demonstrations.

The demonstrations were attended by Hurriyat leaders including Ameer Hamza Shah, Molvi Bashir Irfani, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Syed Mohammad Shafi, Mohammad Rafiq Uwasi, Mohammad Maqbool Magami, Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah, Shakeel Ahmad Butt, Rameez Raja, Mohammad Amin Butt and Imran Ahmad Butt.

Agha Syed Akeel Al-Moosvi organized a protest rally in Budgam, which was scheduled to be headed by senior APHC leader, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, but he was put under house arrest by the authorities.

The protesters were holding placards and banners with slogans against India’s oppressive measures. They demanded immediate revocation of ban on Jamaat and release of all political prisoners including Muhammad Yasin Malik.
