Srinagar, March 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, continuing with its intimidating actions, India’s National Investigation Agency has summoned the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, to New Delhi for questioning on Monday in connection with a false case registered against him.

The NIA has also summoned the APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani’s son, Dr Naseem Gilani on the same day. Mirwaiz  was placed under house arrest on Saturday soon after he was summoned by India’s National Investigation Agency. The agency had recently conducted raids on the residences of many Hurriyat leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Masarrat Aalam Butt, Yasmeen Raja, Zafar Akbar Butt and Dr Naseem Gilani on the 26th of last month of February. The NIA had already arrested several Hurriyat leaders and activists. The detentions and raids were aimed at intimidating the Kashmiris to give up their just struggle for securing inalienable right to self-determination. »

Brussels, March 09 (KMS): The Chairman of Kashmir Council European Union (KCEU), Ali Raza Syed, has appealed to the international community to put pressure on India to stop human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.

Ali Raza Syed in a statement issued in Brussels in connection with the International Women’s Day said that the women of occupied Kashmir were facing Indian brutalities every day. He said thousands of Kashmiri women have lost their sons, husbands, brothers and fathers in the ongoing liberation movement. »

Srinagar, March 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the family members of a 14-year Kulgam boy illegally detained by the Indian police in connection with the Jammu blast have vouched for his innocence.

The police arrested the boy on Thursday afternoon, hours after a grenade blast at general bus stand in Jammu that resulted in the killing of two people and injuring of more than thirty others.

“We have no clue how our son, a class 9 student at a private school in Yaripora, managed to travel the same day he left from his maternal home,” said a family member, adding, “He (boy) had gone to his maternal home in nearby Hangalgush village on Wednesday and stayed there for a night. Next morning he had left his maternal home for tuition.” »

Srinagar, March 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, seven troops including an officer of Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured in a road accident in Srinagar.

The accident occurred when a bullet-proof CRPF vehicle overturned in Parimpora area of Srinagar, late Friday night. Seven CRPF men including an officer of Sub-Inspector rank suffered injuries and were taken to nearby hospital where from they were referred to SMHS for advanced treatment.

Srinagar, March 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) has expressed concern over the imposition of fine on the Kashmiri students enrolled in different cities of India and had to leave their respective institutes following threat to their lives.

The APSCC Chairman, Jagmohan Singh Raina in a statement issued in Srinagar deplored that the Kashmiri students were being asked to pay fine after they rejoined their respective institutions.

He said that instead of extending sympathy to the Kashmiri students, the authorities were asking them to pay extra sum as fine.

Srinagar, March 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the residents of Kellar area of Shopian district observed shutdown and staged protests, today, against the atrocities of Indian Army.

Locals said that every day they were thrashed by the army troops of Mastpora camp. “Till now five to eight youth have been beaten,” they said. »

Srinagar, March 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA) has summoned the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, to New Delhi for questioning in a fake case registered against him.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has been asked to appear before the probe agency on Monday. The notice comes after an NIA team raided the residence of Mirwaiz in Nigeen area of Srinagar on February 26, 2019 and searched the premises for over six hours. Mirwaiz  was placed under house arrest on Saturday soon after he was summoned by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

United Nations, March 09 (KMS): UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, is continually monitoring the situation between India and Pakistan and his office is available to both parties, his spokesman has said.

The UN Chief’s spokesman, Stephane Dujarric, said this when asked if the UN chief had spoken with the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan to de-escalate tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours. »

Srinagar, March 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops launched cordon and search operations in south Kashmir’s Shopian district, today.

The troops sealed all entry and exit points of Heff Shirmal and Molu areas of the district early morning today and started door-to-door searches.

The troops also started a similar operation in Chitragam area of the district where searches were going on when this report was filed. The operations continued till last reports came in. Further details are awaited. »
