IOK authorities prolonging illegal detention of Aalam: JKML » Kashmir Media Service

Srinagar, March 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) has said that the occupation authorities are prolonging the illegal detention of the party Chairman, Masarrat Aalam Butt, by not presenting him before courts on the hearing dates of false cases registered against him.

The JKML General Secretary, Muhammad Rafiq Ganai, in a statement issued in Srinagar said Masarrat Aalam Butt was to be presented before a court for hearing of frivolous charges against him and was about to get clean chit and release orders from the court but the authorities were deliberately not presenting him before the court to prolong his illegal detention. He termed the action as the worst form of human rights violation and a glaring example of political vengeance.

Muhammad Rafiq Ganai also condemned the raid by India’s National Investigation Agency on the house of Masarrat Aalam Butt and said that the NIA sleuths harassed family members of the detained leader, vandalized property and seized his Islamic books.

Meanwhile, a spokesman of Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi in a statement in Srinagar denounced the authorities for not presenting illegally detained party Chairman, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, before court. He said it is a deliberate attempt to prolong illegal detention of the party chief.
