NIA deliberately delaying case, Delhi Court told

Srinagar, March 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) has detained three persons in Kishtwar district.

The Indian agency conducted raids and arrested Irshad Ahmed Kant, Jaffar Hussain and Irshad Mochi in Huller and Hanjala areas of the district in connection with the killing of senior BJP leader from Kishtwar, Anil Parihar and his brother Ajit Parihar.

Pertinently, Anil Parihar and Ajit Parihar were killed on November 1, 2018 when they were heading towards their residence. Unidentified killers killed them and escaped from the spot, when the locals spotted bodies of two brothers.

So far, the NIA has detained five people including Sajjad (driver), father of a Mujahid Javed resident of Dacchan, Irshad Mochi, Irshad Ahmed Kant and police constable Jaffar Hussain.

Meanwhile, several Hurriyat leaders arrested by the NIA in a fake case told a Delhi court that the NIA was deliberately delaying the case against them. Altaf Ahmad Shah, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Mohammad Akbar Khanday and Raja Merajuddin Kalwal were among those who told the court that their bail applications were pending for a long time and the probe agency was seeking repeated adjournments to prolong their detention.

The submissions were made after the NIA sought adjournment on their bail applications on the ground that its Special Public Prosecutor was not available on Wednesday.

On the other hand, Indian troops launched cordon and search operations in Khiram Srigurfwara in Islamabad and Tral in Pulwama. The forces sealed all exit points and conducted house-to-house searches.
