Sentiments of the people are associated with him and people have great reverence for him, he added.

Shabnam said banning of Jamaat-e-Islami will vitiate the atmosphere in the occupied territory. “Jamaat is a well-established organization that has always helped Kashmiris and other people. Jamaat has also helped in developing the education sector in the Valley and has always been at the forefront for the uplift of the backward. Jamaat has been helping number of orphans and widows and many of them are still in their care,” he said.

The EJAC President said the summoning of the Mirwaiz and banning of the Jamaat is a direct interference in the religious affairs of the people of occupied Kashmir.
