Indian brutal tactics cannot suppress Kashmiris’ struggle: JRL » Kashmir Media Service

Srinagar, March 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that India’s attempt to suppress the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom movement through brutal tactics is like daydreaming.

The JRL in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Manoeuvres to trample a people’s resistance through investigating agencies like National Investigation Agency, Enforcement Directorate, Public Safety Act and other black laws, banning socio/religious organizations, arresting common people, political activists, Ulema and religious scholars, and other acts are like daydreaming.” It is the duty of every Kashmiri to remain steadfast, follow every program from leadership in letter and spirit and keep the flame of freedom lit, it said.

The JRL said, human history bears a witness to the fact that suppressing peoples movements through military and police force is not possible and such dreams always prove dreams without interpretation that never come true,” the statement said.

The JRL termed the ongoing and unabated violence in the Kashmir valley and Muslim dominated areas of Jammu a result of colonial mindset of rulers. It described NIA, ED warrants and summons against Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Dr Naseem Gilani and others as part of ‘operation all out’ and undemocratic acts. Framing concocted charges by using NIA, ED like agencies and then intimidating leaders, their children, kith and kin and friends under this garb is ample proof of failure to defeat Kashmir resistance movement and this is what has prompted rulers to start a new revengeful violence against the Kashmiris, it added.

The statement said that summoning Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Dr Naseem Gilani and others to Delhi by NIA and ED is also aimed at fooling the public to garner more and more votes and seats in the upcoming elections which too is a condemnable act.

The JRL denounced the arrest of Muhammad Yasin Malik and Chief Spokesman of Jamaat-I-Islami Advocate Zahid Ali, Vice President of Jamiat Ahle Hadith Molvi Mushtaq Ahmad Veeri and hundreds of other and slapping of PSA on them and reopening of false cases against Yasin Malik. It said this arrest spree is also part of “operation all out” and Kashmiris have been bearing this kind of violence for the last more than seven decades.

The statement maintained that Syed Ali Gilani has been under house arrest for the last many years and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and others are also often caged and the main purpose of these confinements is to stop the leadership from meeting the masses. It termed the dossier that has been framed against Muhammad Yasin Malik as absurd. It also condemned the ban on Jamaat-e-Islami and arrest of its leaders and activists.
