New Delhi, March 21 (KMS): A Delhi court has allowed the Indian Enforcement Directorate (ED) to quiz the All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader, Altaf Ahmed Shah, and others in connection with a fake case registered against them.

Special Judge, Rakesh Syal, allowed the probe agency to question Altaf Ahmed Shah, noted Kashmiri businessman, Zahoor Watali, and Naval Kishore Kapoor, a UAE-based businessman.

The ED through special public prosecutor, Nitesh Rana, and lawyer, A R Aditya, sought three days between March 24 and April 05 to interrogate Altaf Ahmed Shah, Zahoor Watali and Kishore Kapoor, currently lodged at New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail, which the court allowed.

Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference in a statement issued in Srinagar said that after miserably failing to curb and contain the Kashmiris’ movement for right to self-determination by all the military might, Indian government was frustrated to the extent that they frame and arrest pro-freedom leaders, activists and their relatives on the pre-planned psychological crackdown using the masked tools of NIA and ED, so that they surrender and stop voicing the sentiments of their oppressed and suppressed people, thereby covering and shielding their atrocities and brutalities against common and unarmed people. But people are much aware of these gimmicks and such childish acts are in no way going to bail them out of their heinous crimes, it said.

Commenting on the permission to quiz Altaf Ahmad Shah and Zahoor Watali by ED and grilling of APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani’s son, Dr Naseem Gilani by the NIA, it said that on one hand those involved in Samjhauta Express blasts in 2007, where in more than 80 people (mostly Pakistanis) killed, were set free by the courts, while as pro-freedom people and their relatives were harassed and threatened by the so-called investigating agencies which have shown their brutal face by recent killing of school principal, Rizwan Asad.

The APHC said Altaf Ahmed Shah and Zahoor Watali are already under the custody in Delhi’s Tihar Jail for the last 2 years and fresh questioning confirms the mindset of the Delhi rulers, who use their agencies as a tool of oppression.

The APHC said that Indian rulers use the Kashmir card to lure the voters and propagate their pseudo bravery to fight the enemy, but these measures can never suppress the freedom sentiment of the Kashmiri people and their leaders.
