Srinagar, March 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed in Hajin town of Bandipora district, today, to mourn the killing of 12-year-old Atif Ahmed Mir.

Indian troops had killed Atif Mir along with two other youth during a cordon and search operation in Mir Mohalla of the town. Their charred bodies were recovered from the debris of a house blasted by the troops with explosive material in the area. »

Call for the shutdown has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership. The Indian government banned the JKLF led by illegally detained Muhammad Yasin Malik yesterday for its pro-freedom activities. Yasin Malik is presently lodged at Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu under draconian law, Public Safety Act. »

Srinagar, March 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Kashmir business community and civil society have demanded setting-up of an independent special commission of inquiry in the custodial death of Awantipora school teacher Rizwan Asad.

Kashmir business community and civil society members addressing a press conference in Srinagar, today, said that there had been countless instances of inquiries being ordered in killings without any results. They urged Governor Satya Pal Malik to constitute a time-bound independent special commission of inquiry to deter such incidents in future. »

‘Rizwan had died of excessive bleeding caused by deep wounds’

Srinagar, March 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar has submitted preliminary autopsy report of Awantipora school principal, Rizwan Asad, who had died in Indian police custody, to the authorities probing the case.

According to Kashmir Media Service, an official told media that the report was finalized on Friday and handed over to the authorities conducting inquiry into the custodial death. As per the findings, Rizwan had died of excessive bleeding caused by deep wounds on his body. »

Srinagar, March 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has strongly condemned the banning of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) by the Indian authorities.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar said that such tactics would not change the reality of the Kashmir dispute.

“Strongly denounce the ban on JKLF after Jamaat-e-Islami. Such anti-Kashmir tactics will not change the reality of the Kashmir issue nor the urgency to resolve it,” he said. »

Says Sajjad was already in custody

Srinagar, March 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the family members of a Kashmiri youth, Sajjad Ahmed Khan, have refuted the Delhi Police’s claim of arresting him on Thursday near Lal Qilla red light in New Delhi.

The family members of Sajjad Khan of Hundoora area of Tral said that he was already in police custody for the past one month.

“How is it possible that my son who is in police custody in Delhi for last one month was nabbed on Thursday near Lal Qilla in Delhi?” asked Sajjad’s father, Ghulam Nabi Khan. »

Srinagar, March 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, and other Hurriyat leaders and organizations have strongly condemned the killing of seven Kashmiris including a minor boy, Aatif Mir, by Indian troops.

The troops martyred these Kashmiris during violent cordon and search operations in Bandipora, Baramulla and Shopian districts. Several people also sustained injuries due to the firing of bullets, pellets and teargas shells on peaceful protesters by Indian police and troops in Shopian. »
