Srinagar, March 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, and other Hurriyat leaders and organizations have strongly condemned the killing of seven Kashmiris including a minor boy, Aatif Mir, by Indian troops.

The troops martyred these Kashmiris during violent cordon and search operations in Bandipora, Baramulla and Shopian districts. Several people also sustained injuries due to the firing of bullets, pellets and teargas shells on peaceful protesters by Indian police and troops in Shopian.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar paying rich tributes to the martyred Kashmiris. He said, the Kashmiri people are determined to continue the ongoing freedom movement till it reaches its logical conclusion and will never allow these supreme sacrifices go waste.

He condemned the use of force by the Indian forces’ personnel on peaceful protestors in Shopian. “On the pretext of search and cordon operations common people are deliberately targeted and victimized by the men in uniform. In this grim situation the life of common people has become miserable and vulnerable at the hands of forces in every nook and corner of Kashmir,” he added.

Syed Ali Gilani deplored that the Indian authorities were hell bent to suppress the Kashmiris’ just struggle for securing their right to self-determination. He appealed to the international community to help the Kashmiri people in securing their inalienable right.

Senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, in his statement said, “It is painful to see every day loss of precious human lives and properties. The people in Kashmir continue to suffer massively due to unresolved Kashmir dispute.”

The Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement said that the loss of life due to the unresolved Kashmir dispute was increasing each day. It also condemned the direct firing of bullets and pellets on the protestors by Indian troops and police in Shopian.

The Democratic Freedom Party, Salvation Movement and Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi in their statements said that the Kashmiri youth were laying down their lives for a sacred cause of freedom and it was the responsibility of the people to safeguard these sacrifices. They also condemned the inhuman treatment meted out to the Kashmiri detainees in different jails.
