Islamabad, March 25 (KMS): Speakers at a seminar urged Government of Pakistan to raise the issue of violations of human rights in occupied Kashmir by Indian forces at the United National Security Council and use its influence for implementation of UN Human Rights Council’s report on Kashmir, UK Parliamentary Group’s report and recommendations of European Parliament’s human rights committee.

The event was organized the Jammu and Kashmir Self-Determination Movement led by Raja Nijabat Hussain and was presided over by AJK President Sardar Masood Khan, while Member European Parliament Wajid Khan was the chief guest on the occasion.

Leadership from Pakistan and Azad Kashmir, APHC-AJK leaders and Kashmiris active at the diplomatic front attended the seminar. The participants said that the ongoing freedom struggle in occupied Kashmir was in line with the UN Charter, but India wanted to malign it as terrorism. Besides Sardar Masood Khan and Wajid Khan, the function was also addressed by Foreign Office Spokesman Dr Muhammad Faisal, MNA Naureen Farooq, Senator Sahar Kahmran, APHC AJK leaders Ghulam Muhammad Safi and Muhammad Altaf Wani, Sheikh Tajamul-ul-Islam, Muhammad Azam, Fida Hussain Kayani, Abdul Hameed Lone, Irshadul Haq, Abid Rafiq and Abid Abbasi.

MEP Wajid Khan was greeted over securing Sitara-e-Imtiaz from the Government of Pakistan. AJK President Sardar Masood Khan paid tributes to the Kashmiri martyrs and hailed the efforts of the Kashmiris living abroad for playing an important role in highlighting the Kashmir cause. Raja Nijabat Hussain informed the audience about the 10-year achievements of JKSDMI for the Kashmir cause in British and European Parliaments.

At the end of the seminar, Raja Nijabat Hussain awarded shields on behalf of his organization to AJK President Sardar Masood Khan, MEP Wajid Khan, Sheikh Tajamul-ul-Islam and Abdul Hameed Lone for their services to the Kashmir cause.
