IOK Bar resents judge’s conduct
Srinagar, April 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred four youth in Pulwama district, today.

The youth were killed by the troops during a cordon and search operation in Lassipora area of the district. The martyrs were identified as Tawseef Ahmad Ittoo, Zafar Ahmad Paul, Aqib Ahmad Kumar and Mohammad Shafi Butt. Tawseef belonged to Pulwama while other three martyrs were residents of Shopian district. Meanwhile, three Indian troops and a policeman were critically injured in an attack in the same area. The authorities suspended Internet service in Pulwama and Shopian districts. The troops also launched violent cordon and search operations in Qazigund and Veernag areas of the Islamabad district. The killings sparked complete shutdown in the entire South Kashmir.

The High Court Bar Association of occupied Kashmir in a statement issued in Srinagar criticised Principal District and Sessions Judge, Srinagar, for disallowing a seminar saying the judge had made the decision under pressure from the Indian authorities. The seminar was meant to memorize the renowned human rights lawyer, Advocate Jaleel Andrabi, who was killed in custody of the Indian army in March 1996. »

Srinagar, April 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association has criticised Principal District and Sessions Judge Srinagar for disallowing the seminar saying the Judge has not written the letter of his own but under pressure from the authorities.

The Bar Association in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “As per the decision of the executive committee of Bar Association, a general body meeting of the members was held in Srinagar to discuss the impact of the letter issued by Principal District Judge, Srinagar to the President of the Bar Association informing him that the proposed seminar would not be permitted inside the District Courts Complex under the law.” »

New Delhi, April 01 (KMS): A Superintendent of Police (SP) rank officer will lead convoys of the Indian paramilitary, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), in occupied Kashmir.

An official said a CRPF convoy will not have more than 40 vehicles and the number of armed and bulletproof vehicles escorting convoys will also increase as part of the new Standard-Operating Procedure (SOP) for the movement Indian troops. »

Srinagar, April 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) has denounced the illegal detention of party Chairman, Masarrat Aalam Butt and other Hurriyat leaders and activists and described it as the worst kind of political vendetta and human rights violation.

Srinagar, April 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, police have failed to submit the report before the magisterial officer in the custodial killing of a school principal, Rizwan Assad.

Rizwan Assad, 29, a resident of Awantipora town of Pulwama district, was picked up by police in a nocturnal raid from his house on March 17 and, two days later, was killed during custody at infamous Cargo Camp in Srinagar. »
