JKLF pays rich tributes to Dr Abdul Ahad Guru » Kashmir Media Service

Srinagar, April 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Acting Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Abdul Hameed Butt has paid rich tributes to Shaheed Abdul Ahad Guru on his martyrdom anniversary.

Abdul Hameed Butt in a statement issued in Srinagar said he despite being highly educated, well-off and a reputed heart surgeon joined freedom struggle under the banner of JKLF and laid down his life for the sacred cause.

He said people of Kashmir are indebted to martyrs like Dr Abdul Ahad Guru who sacrificed their today for the future of Kashmiris. He said the freedom struggle of Kashmir is represented by the blood of great intellectuals, ulema, social leaders, teachers, lawyers, and personalities like Ashfaq Majeed Wani and others.

He said Dr Guru was first Kashmiri Muslim who started open heart surgery in Kashmir and wrote a new chapter in medical history of Kashmir. His efforts for making Soura Medical Institute a well-established health center is well known, he added.

He said the best part of doctor sahib’s life is that he without looking towards his status and position, joined freedom struggle and started the journey on thorny path along with other JKLF members.
