‘Attachment of properties a tool to stifle freedom voice’ » Kashmir Media Service

Srinagar, April 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders, Shabbir Ahmed Dar, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Imtiyaz Ahmed Reshi, Ghulam Nabi Waseem and Ghulam Nabi War have said that the attachment of properties of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman Syed Ali Gilani and senior APHC leader Shabbir Ahmed Shah is being used as a tactic by the Indian authorities to muzzle the voice for freedom in the territory.

The Hurriyat leaders in their statements in Srinagar said, “This shows that India is pursuing the policy of aggression and subjugation. The order shows the intent that sense and sensibility has taken a back seat and only violent means have been put in place to intimidate the Kashmiri people.” However, history stands testimony to the fact that resistance to foreign occupation by the majority of the population could not sustain and sooner or later it has to be ended, they said.

“The freedom movement in Jammu and Kashmir will reach its destination and such heinous acts cannot stop this march for freedom, but despite heinous abuses of human rights, the conviction and love for complete freedom has strengthened,” the Hurriyat leaders said.

They said that massive arrests had not yielded desired results for India; instead these arrests had proved instrumental in strengthening the belief that resistance movement had to be taken to its logical conclusion, against all odds.

The leaders paid glowing tributes to four youth martyred by Indian troops at Lassipora in Pulwama yesterday.
