NIA again summons Mirwaiz, APHC leader booked under PSA

Srinagar, April 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities imposed curfew in Nowhatta area of Srinagar and stringent restrictions in other parts of the city, today, to prevent people from staging demonstrations against the injuring of detainees at Srinagar Central Jail by Indian forces’ personnel.

Protests erupted in the Central Jail last evening after the word about shifting of some inmates to the prisons outside the Kashmir valley spread. Indian police and troops fired pellets and teargas shells on the protesting detainees, injuring several of them. Three barracks and a building suffered damages amid a number of blasts inside the jail.

The occupation authorities sealed historic Jamia Masjid at Nowhatta in Srinagar, today, and prevented people from offering Juma prayers. The authorities placed under house arrest the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who delivers weekly Friday sermon at the historic mosque. »

New Delhi, April 05 (KMS): The infamous India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) has issued a third notice to the Hurriyat forum Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a fake case registered against him.

The NIA has issued a notice to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, asking him to appear at its New Delhi headquarters on Monday for questioning. The notice says that Mirwaiz’s security concerns in New Delhi will be taken care of. »

Srinagar, April 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities booked the illegally detained All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader, Sheikh Danish Mushtaq, under draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA), today.

Sheikh Danish Mushtaq is the APHC President for Bandipora district. A resident of Aloosa area of the district, Shiekh Danish Mushtaq was arrested on March 16. He has been lodged in district jail Kupwara.

Srinagar, April 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has condemned the decision of banning the Jammu-Srinagar Highway for civilian vehicle movement two days a week.

The JKLF Acting Chairman, Abdul Hameed Butt, in a statement issued in Srinagar said the decision is highly immoral, unnatural, against the ethics and is based and designed on Indian ill will. He said this anti-people decision of banning hundreds and thousands of people from Jammu to Baramulla is highly condemnable and is tantamount to severe human rights violation. He said by the use of such tactics India actually wants to see and impose a graveyard like silence in Kashmir to complete and accomplish its election theatre. »

Srinagar, April 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities, today, sealed historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar and placed the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, under house arrest.

Witnesses said heavy contingents of forces have been deployed at Nowhatta in Srinagar to prevent devotees from reaching the Jamia Masjid to offer Friday congregational prayers. »

Srinagar, April 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops launched a cordon and search operation in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, today.

The troops cordoned off Amberpora Tarzoo area of Sopore and started door-to-door searches. A large number of troops have been deployed in the area and door to door search operation was going on when last reports came in.

Mumbai, April 05 (KMS): More than 600 theatre personalities have signed a letter asking people to defeat BJP and its allies in elections, arguing that the idea of India and its constitution are under threat.

The letter, which was issued in 12 languages on the Artist Unite India website, said the upcoming Lok Sabha elections are the most critical in the history of the country. »

Baramulla, April 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have ordered suspension to 7 educational institutes in Baramulla district to provide accommodation for the Indian troops to be deployed during the forthcoming so-called Indian Parliamentary elections.

The authorities have said that the educational institutes would remain closed from April 5-12 for educational purposes. »

Srinagar, April 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, at least two Indian troops were injured in a blast inside an army camp in Kupwara district, today.

The blast occurred inside the camp of 15 Rashtriya Rifles at Lachampora Rajwar in Handwara area of the district. »

Islamabad, April 05 (KMS): The Jammu and Kashmir Council for Human Rights (JKCHR) has strongly condemned the two-day ban on civilian traffic every week on the Srinagar-Jammu highway from Udhampur in Jammu to Baramulla in North Kashmir by the authorities in occupied Kashmir.

The President of London-based JKCHR, Dr Syed Nazir Gilani, in a statement issued in Islamabad said that halt imposed on civilian traffic to facilitate the military traffic in fact is a declaration of war against the people of occupied Kashmir. “It seems that the Indian Government is using the Presidential Rule to induct more military personnel into Kashmir,” he said »
