Srinagar, April 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities imposed restrictions in parts of downtown Srinagar, today, following massive protests inside the Central Jail Srinagar, last night.

The restrictions have been imposed in parts of Srinagar’s Old city including Nowhatta which houses the historic Jamia Masjid. Barricades have been erected at several places to curtail the movement of people. »

Srinagar, April 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and other organizations have condemned the authorities’ decision of disallowing movement of civilian vehicles on the Srinagar-Jammu highway for two days a week and termed it another anti-people dictatorial move of the authorities.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a tweet in Srinagar asked the authorities to withdraw the order of closing down the highway and it will cause great distress to the people. »

Srinagar, April 05 (KMS): French journalist, Paul Comiti, has released his documentary exposing the massive genocide of the Kashmiris by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.

In the documentary “Kashmir: The War on the Roof of the World”, it was shown that the indiscriminate firing of bullets and pellets on the people were carried out on daily basis.

In 1 hour and 18 minutes duration, the film further displayed the bloodshed of innocent Kashmiris in the beautiful and mesmerizing valley. »

New Delhi, April 05 (KMS): The General Secretary of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union, Aijaz Ahmed Rathar, has said that extending ban of advertisement to Urdu daily Kashmir Uzma after English dailies ‘Greater Kashmir’ and ‘Kashmir Reader’ by the authorities is a direct assault on the freedom of speech.

Aijaz Ahmed Rathar in an e-mailed statement said, “Media, the fourth pillar of democracy, has a significant task of bringing grievances of people to the fore. Such apathy and discrimination towards the Kashmir media in a democratic set-up are unacceptable.” »

Several inmates injured due to use of force by police

Srinagar, April 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, protests and scuffle broke out between prisoners and prison authorities in Central Jail Srinagar, last night.

Protests erupted late Thursday evening after jail inmates objected to repair and reinforcement work inside a barrack by the authorities and also the word spread that some inmates were being shifted out of the Kashmir valley. »
