Srinagar, April 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian Army soldiers severely thrashed and injured a truck driver in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district, today.

The victim was identified as Yawar Ahmed Malik, a resident of Bijbehara area.

The residents of Batengoo area of the district said that Malik was pulled out of the vehicle by the army men on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway and beaten for about 15 minutes before he was rescued by people. »

Mohali (India), April 06 (KMS): India’s infamous National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a charge-sheet in the Special NIA Court, Mohali, Punjab, against four Kashmir students who were arrested in October last year.

A statement issued by the NIA said that the agency had filed a charge-sheet in a case registered against the Kashmiri students. »

Srinagar, April 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, forceful demonstrations erupted in Poniwoha area of Kulgam district after Indian police and troops attempted to arrest a cleric.

The troops and police personnel after launching a cordon and search operation in the area tried to arrest a local preacher. However, the locals resisted the operation and pelted stones on the Indian forces. »

Court directs jail officials to allow lawyers to visit prison

Srinagar, April 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has strongly condemned the use of brute force against the detainees at Central Jail Srinagar.

Several detainees lodged in Srinagar Central Jail were injured due to the use of brute force against the protesting inmates on Thursday evening. The protests had erupted in the jail after the word about shifting of some prisoners to the prisons outside the Kashmir valley spread. Indian police and troops fired pellets and teargas shells on the protesting detainees, injuring several of them. Three barracks and a building suffered damages amid a number of blasts inside the jail. »

Srinagar, April 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court has asked the authorities to respond to a plea by May 06 against the illegal detention of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, under draconian Public Safety Act (PSA).

A bench of Justice Rashid Ali Dar, hearing a petition filed by Yasin Malik through his mother Attiqa Begum, directed the authorities to file objections to the petition. »

Srinagar, April 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has denounced the authorities for disallowing congregational Juma prayers at historic Srinagar Jamia Masjid.

The authorities imposed restrictions in downtown Srinagar on Friday following massive protests inside the Central Jail Srinagar, the previous night. The authorities had also sealed the Jamia Masjid and placed the Mirwaiz, who delivers weekly Friday sermon at the historic mosque, under house detention.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar said that preventing the people from offering congregational prayers at the grand Masjid, following the Shab-e-Meraj, had deeply hurt the religious sentiments of hundreds of the masses. »

Srinagar, April 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) has expressed profound grief and sorrow over demise of PhD scholar Jamshed Ismail.

Jamshed Ismail was a son of JKML leader, Muhammad Ismail Jameel of Watapora, Bandipora.

The party General Secretary, Muhammad Rafiq Ganai, in a statement issued in Srinagar described the deceased as a pious soul. He extended heartfelt condolences to Muhammad Ismail Jameel and prayed for the departed soul.
