Unresolved Kashmir taking lives on daily basis: Sehrai » Kashmir Media Service

Srinagar, April 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Chairman, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai while paying tributes to Shopian martyrs has said that the precious human blood is being spilled in the territory every day because of unresolved Kashmir dispute.

The troops had martyred the youth, Rahil Rashid Sheikh and Bilal Ahmed, during a cordon and search operation at Padguchi in Imam Sahib area of Shopian district, yesterday.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Every day Kashmiris are getting killed and becoming target of the unresolved Kashmir conflict, which is very sad and painful.” He said the Kashmir conflict, one of the longest standing disputes in the world, is leaving behind tragic stories, wails and screams and thousands of untold stories since the past seven decades.

He criticized the world for silently watching the killings of innocent people by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir. “The international community is turning a deaf ear towards the Kashmir issue. Unfortunately, everyone watches all these happenings as mute spectators. No one comes to the rescue of people and it looks that humanity no longer exists in the world,” he said.

Sehrai said, the so-called democracy has waged a war on the people of Kashmir. He added that history testified the fact that the international disputes were solved on negotiation tables and not by waging war on the innocent people.

Kashmiri people have always sought a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute through dialogue and as per the wishes of people of Kashmir, but India has been adamant to settle it through military might, he said.

“It is the high time the UN Secretary General take a step forward and appoint a special representative to explore a viable solution to this festering conflict and ensure lasting peace and stability in the region,” he demanded.

Jammu and Kashmir Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi in a statement also paid tributes to the Shopian martyrs.
