Indian forces’ excesses on civilians denounced

Troops go berserk, beat people, ransack shops

Srinagar, April 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association has condemned the use of bullets and pellets by Indian forces against the civilians in Shopian and other parts of the territory.

The Bar Association in a statement issued in Srinagar appealed to the international human rights originations to take notice of the brutalities perpetrated by Indian troops in length and breadth of the occupied territory and play their effective role to stop these abuses. Around two dozen civilians were injured with pellets fired by the troops on protesters in Gahind area of Shopian district on Saturday. Four critically injured were referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for treatment. The troops also ruthlessly thrashed two boys at Rafiabad in Baramulla on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Indian forces beat up several people and ransacked shops in Shirpora area of Islamabad town. The troops also launched cordon and search operations in Kulgam, Pulwama and Shopian districts. They sealed all entry and exit points and conducted house-to-house search operations.

Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen Chairperson, Zamrooda Habib during her door-to-door anti-election campaign in Litter area of Pulwama district appealed people to stage complete boycott of the sham Indian parliamentary elections.

Hurriyat leader Mushtaqul Islam in a statement condemned the Indian authorities for shifting JKLF chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik to Tihar jail, and putting in solitary confinement Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr Abdul Hamid Fayaz, Jamiat Ahale Hadeeth vice President, Maulana Mushtaq Veeri and dozens of others in Haryana and other states of India.

India’s National Investigation Agency issued summons second time in one week to Dr Naeem Gilani, the elder son of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, asking him to appear before the agency’s Delhi headquarters for questioning. He has been summoned to appear before the NIA on next Monday.

On the other hand, Peoples Democratic Party President, Mehbooba Mufti’s cavalcade was pelted with stones in Sirhama area of Islamabad district. Although, she escaped unhurt in the attack but one of the vehicles in the cavalcade suffered damage.
