Srinagar, April 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leader Mushtaqul Islam while condemning the shifting of Kashmiri political prisoners from Srinagar to Haryana and other states of India has expressed concern over the plight of the prisoners lodged in different jails.
Mushtaqul Islam in a statement issued in Srinagar, said, even the judicial orders regarding prisoners were utterly disregarded and that prisoners were suffering from mental and physical torture.
Reacting to the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik’s arrest by India’s infamous National Investigation Agency and his shifting to Tihar jail, Mushtaqul Islam said, “Putting him behind bars on decade old fabricated cases is nothing but a tactic to pressurize him,” He criticised the authorities for lodging in solitary confinement Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr Abdul Hamid Fayaz, Jamiat Ahale Hadeeth vice president, Molana Mushtaq Veeri and dozens of other in Haryana.
Mushtaqul Islam said “the detainees are being shifted primarily due to political vendetta. The main motive behind this move is to subject the detainees to physical and mental agony so that they will relinquish their mission.”
Mushtaqul Islam also condemned the issuing notices to minor daughters of incarcerated leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah, terming it as state terrorism.
