Srinagar, April 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, family members of the prisoners lodged at Srinagar Central Jail staged a protest in Srinagar against threat to the life of the inmates.

The protest was held at Press Enclave in Srinagar, today. The family members said that the prisoners were not safe in the jail. They demanded that Srinagar Central Jail should not be turned into the Guantanamo jail, and the inmates should not be shifted to the jails outside the Kashmir valley.

The protesters demanded that the FIRs registered against the inmates be withdrawn. They also demanded the transfer of jail Superintendent and withdrawal of FIR registered against the detainees in connection with the incident, which took place during the intervening night of April 05 and 06. Several inmates were injured when Indian troops used brute force on protesting detainees on the fateful night.
