Srinagar, April 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, Shabbir Ahmed Dar, and Hurriyat leaders Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Imtiaz Ahmed Reshi, Ghulam Nabi Wasim and Ghulam Nabi War have strongly condemned the murderous assault on Kashmiri prisoners in Srinagar Central Jail.
The leaders in their statements in Srinagar termed the attacks on jail inmates as the most brutal incident in the resistance history of Jammu and Kashmir.
“The authorities have crossed all the limits by registering an FIR against these prisoners of conscience. The hunger strike by the inmates is a matter of grave concern as this can pose a serious threat to their lives,” they said.
The Hurriyat leaders urged the United Nations to send its team to occupied Kashmir to get first-hand information about the Kashmiri prisoners languishing in Indian jails.
“The ugly incident at Srinagar Central Jail shows that India is pursuing the policy of aggression and subjugation and only violent means have been put in place to intimidate the Kashmiri people,” the leaders added.
The leaders maintained that the Kashmiri prisoners were systematically being attacked from Delhi to Srinagar which should be a cause of concern for the international community and the champion of human rights.
