Srinagar, April 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front has expressed serious concern over the continued illegal detention of its Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, in the custody of India’s infamous National Investigation Agency (NIA).

A JKLF spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said, Muhammad Yasin Malik has been kept at some undisclosed place by the NIA for unknown reasons, which is a serious cause of concern to the Kashmiris particularly to the family of detained leader. He said that such inhuman acts were not going to yield any results for India as they were bound to fail. Yasin Malik is a brave, revolutionary and dynamic leader who is being followed by hundreds and thousands of people for his thoughts, ideology and sacrifices, he said.

The spokesman said India must read the writhing on the wall that the Kashmiri people want nothing less than freedom and it is in the interest of New Delhi to grant them this right as soon as possible.

He also strongly condemned the shifting of Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer, Dr Abdul Hameed Fayaz, Jamiat Ahle Hadith Vice President, Mushtaq Ahmed Veeri, and other Hurriyat leaders and activists to the Indian jails. He said that such repressive and inhuman acts by India could not deter the Kashmiris or their leadership from carrying on their freedom struggle.

One Response to “JKLF concerned over continued illegal detention of Malik”

He’s a murderer and a terrorist and arrest is smallest of punishment, lot less than he deserves. And what makes the detention illegal? What is legality for you people? Sharia?
