IOK traders protests against cross-LoC trade suspension » Kashmir Media Service

Srinagar, April 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, traders associated with the trade across the Line of Control on Monday staged a protest in Srinagar to demand resumption of the business between parts of the divided Kashmir.

Scores of traders affiliated with Salamabad cross-LoC traders Union assembled in Srinagar to demand resumption of the trade which was suspended on April 19 by the Indian Home Ministry.

The protesters carried placards with messages like ‘We Want Justice’, ‘Trade chalao hamara karobar lotao’ and ‘resume trade, don’t play with our fate’.

India last week suspended, with immediate effect, trade across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

Traders and politicians in Kashmir criticised New Delhi over the sudden suspension of the trade.

Meanwhile, a truck carrying copper coils, utensils and cash caught fire on Kashmir highway at Panzath area in South Kashmir’s Qazigund town. In the incident, the truck damaged completely. However, both the driver and conductor of the truck escape unhurt in the incident.
