Former BJP activist shot at in Tral, hospitalised

Srinagar, May 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, former Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) activist was injured after being shot at by unknown gunmen at Kuch Mulla of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday night.

The masked gunmen fired upon the man identified as Abdul Rashid Bhat (50) son of Ghulam Ahmad Butt of Kuch Mullaa outside his home. In the incident, Rashid received a bullet wound in his left foot.

Rashid was earlier associated with BJP.

A police officer confirmed the incident and said that the man had been hospitalised where his condition was said to be stable.

Soon after the incident, the troops launched searches in the area to track down the gunmen.
