Srinagar, May 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Kashmir Journalists Association, on the World Press Freedom Day, today, demanded immediate release of illegally detained journalist, Aasif Sultan.

Expressing serious concern over the deteriorating press freedom in occupied Kashmir, the KJA in a statement said Aasif’s continued imprisonment reflects growing threat journalists are facing in the territory.

“Leading journalist and human rights bodies including International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and Amnesty International highlighted the issue of his arrest and jailing. The KJA would like to thank them for their support,” the statement said. »

Srinagar, May 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, massive protests erupted in different areas of south Kashmir against the killing of two youth by Indian troops, today.

The youth were martyred by the troops during a violent cordon and search operation at Adkhara in Imam Sahib area of Shopian district, today.

People took to the streets in Adkhara and staged forceful demonstrations against the killing. Indian police and troops fired pellets and teargas shells to disperse the protesters, triggering clashes between the demonstrators and the forces’ personnel. »

Ahmedabad (India), May 03 (KMS): Former chief minister of Gujarat, Shankersinh Vaghela, has claimed that the Pulwama attack in occupied Kashmir on February 14, this year, was the BJP’s conspiracy as was Godhra.

The former CM and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader talking to media men said that the vehicle with RDX, which was used in Pulwama attack, “was bearing the registration initial of Gujarat — GJ. Godhra was a conspiracy.”

He said the BJP government uses terrorism to win elections. “A number of terrorist attacks have taken place since the last five years,” he added. »

Srinagar, May 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred three Kashmiri youth in Shopian district of south Kashmir, today.

The troops martyred the youth during a violent cordon and search operation at Adkhara in Imam Sahib area of the district. The operation was going on till last reports came in. Earlier, an Indian soldier was injured in an attack in the same area. »

Srinagar, May 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Indian authorities are deploying 300 additional companies of armed forces in Pulwama and Shopian districts during the last phase of the Indian parliamentary polls to be held on Monday (May 06).

These 300 companies of the armed forces will be in addition to the thousands of Indian troops and police personnel already deployed in the two districts. »
