Dublin, May 05 (KMS): Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU)’s team will launch a two-day ‘One Million Signature Campaign’ in Dublin, the Capital of Ireland, to create widespread awareness on the Kashmir issue.

The team will collect signature from the Irish people in favour of oppressed people of Kashmir during the two-day signature camp on Monday and Tuesday in the capital city.

The EU-based campaign had been first launched in Belgium a few years ago and so far, a large number the people in the different European countries have signed the documents of the signature drive. »

Shutdown in Shopian, Pulwama tomorrow

Srinagar May 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani has reiterated his appeal for complete boycott of the fifth and final phase of the so-called Indian Parliamentary elections in the territory, tomorrow.

Complete shutdown will also be observed in poll-bound areas of Pulwama and Shopian, scheduled to undergo for elections on Islamabad’s Lok Sabha seat. Poll drama will also be held in Ladakh constituency, tomorrow. Indian forces have arrested several dozen youth in South Kashmir to ensure smooth conduct of the election drama. »

Jammu, May 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, in blatant violation of human rights, Indian police have arrested an innocent father to force his mujahid son to surrender in Kishtwar area of Jammu region.

Javed Wani, an employee of Education department, is father of Osama Bin Javed. Police arrested Javed Wani to put pressure on Osama Bin Javed to surrender.

As per the details, Javed Wani was detained by the Special Investigation Team of police probing RSS leader’s killing on April 21, 2019. »

Srinagar, May 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a delegation of Tehreek-e-Muzahamat led by Party Chairman Bilal Ahmed Siddiqui visited the residence of martyr Aadil Ahmed Yittoo at Safakadal in Srinagar to pay him tributes on his martyrdom anniversary.

The other members of the delegation included Muhammad Salim Zargar and Reyaz Ahmed Rafiq Ahmed. The leaders also visited the martyrs’ graveyard at Eidgah in Srinagar and offered fateha for Aadil and other martyrs. »

Reports said that Hindi extremist organisations started protest demonstrations when a patient died in a hospital which was owned by a Muslim doctor. Reports said the death is being given a religious colour and protest demos are being held against the Muslims. »

Srinagar, May 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front have expressed concern over the deteriorating health condition of the incarcerated JKLF Chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik in Tihar jail.

The Hurriyat forum and JKLF in their separate statements in Srinagar said that the reports that Yasin Malik was being ill-treated in Tihar jail had set off alarm bells among the masses across Kashmir. »

Srinagar, May 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Chairman, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai has condemned the arrest spree of youth in Shopian and Pulwama ahead of Indian sham parliamentary elections.

Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said: “Elections are meaningless in presence of draconian laws like Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and mass arrests of youth and activists. When it comes to Kashmir, the meaning of every democratic exercise is to silence every political dissent with military might and jailing innocent people.” »

A senior police official said that some locals this morning found a decomposed dead body of the man male probably having age of 57-58 lying near a river bank at Dhalara . »

Washington, May 06 (KMS): The concept of self-determination is  a vexing but significant topic in the field of human rights. It is the idea of government by the consent of the governed eternally memorialized in the soaring prose of President Thomas Jefferson in America’s Declaration of Independence. Self-determination which enjoys universal support is celebrated in the United Nations Charter, in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and in the United Nations General Assembly resolutions. Article I of the United Nations Charter enshrines as a major purpose the development of friendly relations among nations based on respect for the “principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples.” Self-determination was a central creed of President Woodrow Wilson’s famous Fourteen Points to end World War I. Self-determination was also the libretto of India in obtaining independence from Great Britain. And as regards Kashmir, self-determination is expressly embraced in United Nations Security Council resolutions as the international law formula for determining the status of the disputed territory. »
