Srinagar, May 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Chairman, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai has condemned the arrest spree of youth in Shopian and Pulwama ahead of Indian sham parliamentary elections.

Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said: “Elections are meaningless in presence of draconian laws like Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and mass arrests of youth and activists. When it comes to Kashmir, the meaning of every democratic exercise is to silence every political dissent with military might and jailing innocent people.”

He said elections are mere a military exercise aimed at damaging the Kashmir dispute and hoodwinking the international community.

Meanwhile, Sehrai prayed and expressed his best wishes for the immediate recovery of ailing resistance leader and APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani who was admitted at Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura in Srinagar for pacemaker assessment.

Jammu and Kashmir Islami Tanzeem Azadi in a statement also prayed for early recovery of ailing APHC Chairman Syed Ali Gilani.
