Gilani condemns barbaric police action on detainee in IOK » Kashmir Media Service

Srinagar, May 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani has condemned the barbaric police action on a detainee at police station, General Bus Stand, Islamabad and demanded a strong notice by the local and international human rights organizations against the grave violation of prisoner’s rights.

Reports said that a detainee, Aaqib Gulzar of Urinhal Bijbihara was presently lodged in District Jail, Kathua in Jammu under draconian Public Safety Act (PSA). As a student he had to take examination in Islamabad on 10th of May 2019, so the police escort brought him from Kathua jail and because of closed Jammu-Srinagar Highway Aqib could not appear in the examination. Now while in custody at the said police station his mother came to see his son. Unfortunately the police staff refused any meeting between the son and his mother. The police officer in an angry mood not only used harsh language but also hit a blow on the woman who got injured within the police station and was immediately hospitalized.

The APHC chairman, condemning the police action, demanded immediate cognizance of such barbaric incidents in police custody by the human rights organizations.

Meanwhile, he also paid glorious tributes to Kashmiri martyred youth and castigated Indian occupation rulers for their stubbornness and unrealistic approach towards Kashmir.

He asked the Kashmiris to memorise the precious sacrifices rendered by youth at every step of future history.
