Tributes paid to two Shopian martyred youth » Kashmir Media Service

Srinagar, May 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Chairman, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai and other Hurriyat leaders have paid tributes to two Kashmiri youth martyred by Indian troops in Shopian, today.

Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said because of the repressive policies of the Indian government Kashmiris’ fourth generation has been pushed to the wall. The insensitivity of the Indian authorities is the sole reason of the unabated bloodshed even continued in this holy month of Ramadan, he deplored.

He said India cannot silence the voices of Kashmiris through use of brute force. He said the unprecedented sacrifices of Kashmiri people for Kashmir cause will not go waste. He said international law and the declarations of the United Nations on self-determination, give the Kashmiri people the right to struggle for their cause.

He said the sacrifices of these martyrs are a part of our collective memory that can’t erased at any point in time. He said due to sacrifices rendered by youth and thousands of other martyrs today settlement of Kashmir dispute has become inevitable to forge peace in whole South Asia and Kashmiri people since last seven decades have been bearing numerous atrocities that are becoming edifice for the genuine political demands of Kashmiris.

The Jammu and Kashmir Employees Movement Chairman, Muhammad Shafi Lone in a statement, paying tributes to the Shopain martyrs, said India is hell bent upon suppressing the Kashmiris’ freedom movement through military might but is destined to fail in its designs. He said Kashmir is a political dispute and must be settled politically.
