Clashes erupt outside Amar Singh College

Srinagar, May 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, students of Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar held a protest demonstration against the rape of a three-year-old girl in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Scores of MBBS students assembled in the College premises and held a peaceful protest against the brutal act, demanding death penalty to the culprit. “We are protesting against the inhuman act. The culprit who is a mature must be punished as per law,” a protesting undergraduate student said.

The protesting students were holding placards that read “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” They sought that the probe into the case be taken on fast-track basis.

Meanwhile, protests broke out in Kangan area of Ganderbal district on Tuesday against the rape of a minor girl in Sumbal area of Bandipora district. Scores of students of Government Degree College Kangan boycotted their classes and took out a protest march from college to main market Kangan. The protesters were carrying placards that reads ”Justice For Victim” and “Hang the Rapist”.

On the other hand, massive clashes erupted outside Amar Singh College in Gogji Bagh, Srinagar after the students staged protests against the rape of the minor girl. As the students tried to take out a protest march outside the campus, the police deployed in the area didn’t allow them to come outside, triggering clashes. The troops lobbed teargas shells inside the campus. Massive clashes were going on when this report was filed.
