Chandigarh, May 17 (KMS): A former top official of Indian Army, in an apparent reference to speeches of Narendra Modi and other Indian politicians, has said it is worrisome that the military is increasingly being drawn into the political discourse and used to win political arguments.

Lt Gen (Retd) D S Hooda addressing an event in Chandigarh said, “ …the military (is) being increasingly drawn into the political discourse, it’s being used to win political arguments, it’s being used as something which generates success in the elections. And that frankly is worrisome.” »

Srinagar, May 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops launched a cordon and search operation in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, today.

The troops cordoned off Okey area of the district and started door-to-door searches, causing huge inconvenience to the local people. Further details are awaited.

It is to mention here that Indian troops killed seven Kashmiri youth during similar operations in Pulwama and Shopian districts.

Srinagar, May 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the President of Anjuman Shari Shian, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, has condemned the killing of a youth Arshad Ahmed Dar of Chanabal area of Pattan.

The 23-year-old Arshad Ahmed Dar, who was injured in Indian forces’ violent action on protesters on 13th May at Chanabal in Pattan area of Baramulla district, succumbed to his injuries at Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar on Wednesday night.

Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “The use of brutal force has snatched the loved one of a poor family.” He said, the only fault of the protesters was that they were demanding justice for a 3-year-old victim of rape. He prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and patience and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. »

By making their signatures, a large number of polish people from different walks of life favoured oppressed people of occupied Kashmir during the signatures camp held on Thursday. »
