Srinagar, May 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a civilian was martyred and several others were injured when Indian troops opened fire on protesters in south Kashmir’s Shopian district, today.

Sea of people rescue trapped mujahid

Srinagar, May 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, more than 90 people were injured, some of them critically, in firing by Indian forces on a sea of people protesting against the cordon and search operations launched by the troops in Kulgam and Shopian districts, today.

The troops fired bullets, pellets and teargas shells on the protesters, injuring over six dozen of them at Tazipora in Kulgam district . Many of the injured were admitted to Kulgam hospital, while four hit with pellets and bullets were referred to SMHS hospital in Srinagar. A house was destroyed in the forces’ action. As a result of intense resistance and stone pelting by the people, the forces had to call off the operation. In the meantime, a mujahid was rescued from the debris of the destroyed house in Tazipora area of the district. Earlier, he was reported as martyred. The authorities suspended mobile internet services in the district. Intense clashes were also reported during a cordon and search operation at Pinjura village in Shopian district, today. At least, two women among 20 people were injured during the clashes. »

Srinagar, May 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has said that the use of pellet guns only exacerbates the situation on ground.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said, “Human rights abuses, including the use of pellet guns only exacerbates the situation on ground rather than improving it.”

Mirwaiz also condemned the use of pellet shot guns in the holy month of Ramadan. »

Srinagar, May 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, more than 50 people have been injured, some of them critically, due to the use of brute force by Indian forces on peaceful protesters in Kulgam district.

People took to the streets in Tazipora-Mohammadpora area after the killing of a youth by Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in pre-dawn hours. Indian police and troops fired bullets, pellets and teargas shells to disperse the protesters, triggering clashes between the demonstrators and the forces’ personnel. Over 50 persons were injured, four of them grievously, in the brutal actions of the Indian forces. »

Srinagar, May 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people attended the funeral prayers of a martyred youth, Faisal Nazir, in Islamabad district.

The troops martyred Faisal Nazir and another youth during a cordon and search operation in Kokernag area of the district, yesterday.

Defying strict restrictions imposed by the occupation authorities in Islamabad town, people flooded the KP Road area of the town to participate in the funeral prayers of Faisal Nazir. People in large numbers from neighbouring districts of Shopian and Kulgam also joined the funeral prayers of the martyred youth. The participants of the funeral raised high-pitched pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. »

Srinagar, May 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have paid rich tributes to the youth martyred by Indian troops in Kokernag area of Islamabad district.

Hurriyat leader, Mushtaq-ul-Islam in a statement issued in Srinagar said Indian authorities are denying the political space to the Kashmiri youth and trampling basic rights in the territory. He also condemned the forces’ unjustified action against civilians in Sopore and Kulgam. »

People stage demo against desecration of graves

Jammu, May 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, people staged a peaceful protest demonstration in Poonch district of Jammu region against the digging and desecration of a graveyard by Indian Army for construction of posts and bunkers.

The residents of Sabra Gali village in Mendhar area of the district staged a peaceful protest against the Indian army’s provocative action.

The protesters told media that the personnel of army unit at Sabra Gali started digging graveyard on Tuesday morning and people immediately confronted them. They said that they also approached the concerned army unit and police station Balakote with regard to the desecration of the graves. »

Hurriyat leaders demand detainees’release

Jammu, May 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement (JKPM) Chairman, Mir Shahid Saleem has condemned the flagrant human rights violations by Indian forces across the territory saying that Jammu and Kashmir has been turned into a police state.

Mir Shahid Saleem while addressing a Nazool-e-Quran conference at Thanamandi in Rajouri area of Jammu region said that all basic and fundamental rights of the people are being violated by India and its occupation authorities in occupied Kashmir. The conference was organised by JKPM to highlight the eternal and universal message of the Holy Quran. »
