Srinagar, May 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has condemned the Indian forces for letting loose a reign of terror against people.

An APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said use of brute force by Indian troops on innocent people has become a routine matter. He said frequent search operations are conducted to display military might and suppress the people.

He said hundreds of common people hailing from Kulgam, Kokernag, Soibugh Budgam, Sopore, Pulwama and other areas have been critically injured, ruthlessly beaten and taken into custody on baseless grounds.

He cited the example of Shahnawaz, who is not affiliated with any organization, but has been lodged in Kathua Jail in Jammu. He said the detained person is an innocent civilian and father of three kids.

Meanwhile, the spokesman of Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement in Srinagar denounced the use of brute force including live bullets and lethal pellets on the peaceful protesters at Muhammadpura in Kulgam.

He termed the forces’ action against the peaceful protestors as ultimate repression, inhuman and highly undemocratic act. He said it is because of the unbridled powers given to the Indian forces’ personnel under black laws that they resort to indiscriminate use of pellets and bullets on protestors knowing that they won’t be held accountable.
