Dialogue is the only way to resolve Kashmir dispute: Mirwaiz

Srinagar, May 31 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Juma-tul-Wida was observed with religious fervor across Kashmir.

The largest gathering was witnessed at Jamia Masjid Srinagar where thousands of faithful offered Juma prayers. The day was also observed as Youm-e-Qudus and Youm-e-Kashmir, call for which was given by All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani and Chairman Hurriyat Forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. »

Srinagar, May 31 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, has strongly condemned slapping of draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) for 38th time on illegally detained Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League, Masarrat Aalam Butt.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said Masarrat Aalam Butt has no fault except that he believes that Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed territory and has been struggling for its final political resolution promised to the people of Kashmir. »

Indian troops martyr three Kashmiris in Shopian

Srinagar, May 31 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Kashmir Day and Al-Quds Day, today, was marked by forceful anti-India and anti-Israel demonstrations and rallies across the territory. Indian troops injured and arrested several people after using brute force against the protesters.

Call for observance of the day was given by Syed Ali Gilani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. People took to the streets in Srinagar, Badgam, Magam, Ganderbal, Shopian, Islamabad, Kokernag, Pulwama, Kulgam, Kupwara, Bandipora, Baramulla and other areas raising high-pitched pro-freedom, anti-India and anti-Israel slogans. The demonstrations were led by Hurriyat leaders including Maulana Masroor Abbas, Shabbir Ahmed Dar, Imtiyaz Ahmed Reshi, Bashir Qureshi and Ghulam Nabi Waseem. Indian police and troops fired pellets and teargas shells to disperse the protesters at different places. A resolution drafted by the Joint Resistance Leadership was read out and passed during Juma congregations at different mosques, shrines and imambargahs across the territory that called for an end to military occupations in Kashmir and Palestine. »

Srinagar, May 31 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi held in Srinagar with its President, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, in the chair.

The participants of the meeting paid rich tributes to the youth recently martyred by Indian troops. They also paid tributes to Aasiya and Neelofar of Shopian on their martyrdom anniversaries and said their sacrifices would not go waste. »

Jeddah, May 31 (KMS): The Convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Syed Abdullah Gilani, has said unresolved Kashmir dispute is a threat to peace and stability in the south Asian region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Syed Abdullah Gilani said this while addressing a meeting of OIC Contact Group on Kashmir in Jeddah. He said 70 years on, Kashmir dispute not only remains unresolved but has left a horrifying trail of death, destruction and immeasurable human suffering. »

Srinagar, May 31 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders have paid glowing tributes to the recently martyred youth by Indian troops during cordon and search operations and firing on peaceful protesters in different areas.

The Chairperson of Muslim Khawateen Markaz, Yasmeen Raja, in a statement in Srinagar said the troops martyred two youth at Bunpora Mohalla in Dangerpora area of the Sopore town, yesterday, and martyred three more Kashmiris in Dragad Sugan area of the Shopian district, today. »

The Indian army officer of Colonel rank namely Rohit Singh Solanki of 6 Mahar regiment, deployed at Siachen Glacier, shot himself dead with his service rifle near Paratpur in Nubra sub division of the district. »

Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi and Ghulam Nabi Waseem, today, addressing people at Palporah in Srinagar in connection with Youm-e-Kashmir and Youm-e-Quds, said the United Nations must use its good offices to stop India and Israel from committing the genocide of innocent people whose only crime is to raise voice for their birthright to self-determination. »

Srinagar, May 31 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, two Indian policemen were injured in an attack in Kishtwar district on Friday.

The cops were attacked when Indian troops and police personnel launched a cordon and search operation at Oppun in Marwah area of the district. The operation continued till last reports came in.

Srinagar, May 31 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has said that the Hurriyat leadership will support all the peace initiatives that are aimed at peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

“Hurriyat is willing to support every initiative which is aimed at peaceful resolution of the dispute keeping in view the sentiments and aspirations of the people of Kashmir,” Mirwaiz said while addressing the Friday congregation at the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar.

He said that Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Kahn’s offer of holding a dialogue on all the outstanding issues should be taken seriously by New Delhi. “Pakistan PM Imran Khan’s oft repeated offer of dialogue on all issues between India and Pakistan including Kashmir issue should be seriously considered by the new dispensation in New Delhi as the way forward.” »
