Srinagar, May 31 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, has strongly condemned slapping of draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) for 38th time on illegally detained Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League, Masarrat Aalam Butt.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said Masarrat Aalam Butt has no fault except that he believes that Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed territory and has been struggling for its final political resolution promised to the people of Kashmir.

He said the PSA is a way of doing away with the requirement of civilized jurisprudence; it is a devious way to imprison political opponents and even for those released, the possibility of re-detention hangs like a sword over their heads.

Ashraf Sehrai, while paying tributes to Sopore and Shopian martyrs, said the pain of losing loved ones can well be felt by the Kashmiris who see the dance of death and who shoulder the coffins of their loved ones almost every day even in the holy month of Ramadan. “The Kashmir dispute is where it has always been – unresolved and causing great harm, suffering and cost to all. Today, all of us continue to be held hostage to the broken promises,” he added.

Meanwhile, on the instructions of the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman, party leader, Bashir Qureshi addressed a huge gathering of devotees at Bait-ul-Muqaram in Baramulla on Juma-tul-Wida in connection with Youm-e-Quds and Youm-e-Kashmir and highlighted the atrocities of Israeli and Indian forces in Palestine and Kashmir.
