Srinagar, May 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the widow of a youth martyred by Indian troops, last year, passed away today after losing a battle with a brain tumour in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

The deceased woman identified as Shaheena died at her native village Heff, after losing a battle with fatal disease brain tumour. Her husband, martyr Bilal Ahmad was killed last year during a cordon and search operation by Indian forces. »

Srinagar, May 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, two Indian army soldiers were injured in an Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) blast in Machil sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

The two army men sustained injuries in the blast near Line of Control (LoC) in Machil sector. The injured soldiers were identified as Havaldar Jaipal Singh Tomar (39) and Naik Vikram Mane (33) of 56 Rashtria Rifles. »

Srinagar, May 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police detained as many as two dozen youth from Rathsuna village of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

A huge contingent of police personnel raided several residential houses in Rathsuna and arrested at least two dozen youth. »

Srinagar, May 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court has ordered Crime Branch to probe a complaint of gang rape by a woman against three police and public officers. She said that she was raped following demolition of her house in Jammu.

As per the complaint filed by the woman, a Demolition Squad led by the SDM, North, Jammu along with the three officers demolished her house on August 3, 2018. She claimed that not only her house was demolished without any notice or warning but she was also manhandled on the spot by a senior police officer who forcibly put her into the van and took her to the Police Post, Chinore. »

Srinagar, May 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, at least twenty sheep were killed and others were injured in an attack by unknown persons late last night in upper reaches of Sopore in Baramulla district.

A police officer said that a shepherd Waseem Ahmad Mir, a resident of Adipora Sopore had lodged a complaint with police station, Sopore, that a group of at least 15 people carried the attack killing 20 sheep and injuring 20 others. »

Srinagar, May 12 (KMS): When most parts of the world are observing Mother’s Day, today, thousands of Kashmiri women continue to wait for the return of their sons subjected to disappearance in custody by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir over the past 30 years.

A report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service on Mother’s Day, today, said that the continued Indian state terrorism had resulted in the killing of 95,353 Kashmiris including women and children from 1989 to 11th of May 2019. As many as 22,901 women have been widowed by the Indian forces and 11,120 women were raped, disgraced or molested during the period. »

Srinagar, May 12 (KMS): The district election officer of Leh in a letter to the Indian Army has exposed the malpractices by many commanding officers in the electronic postal ballot system during the recently-held Lok Sabha polls in the territory on May 6.

In her letter to General Officer in Command of Leh-based XIV corps, Anvy Lavasa said a complaint has been received from contesting candidates for the Ladakh Parliamentary seat alleging that there are malpractices on the part of various commanding officers of the Indian army in the electronic postal ballot system. »

Srinagar, May 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, most of the additional companies of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), which were brought to Kashmir for sham Lok Sabha election duty, have been asked to remain in the territory on the pretext of security of Amarnath yatris.

A senior official said most of the CAPF companies are still stationed in the Valley even as the Lok Sabha polls concluded in the Valley. The 46 days’ annual yatra would begin on July 1. »

Troops launch CASO in Bijbehara

Srinagar, May 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred two Kashmiri youth in Shopian district, today.

The youth were killed by the troops during a cordon and search operation in Satipora area of the district.

A joint team of the army’s 34 Rashtriya Rifles, Special Operations Group and Central Reserve Police Force conducted the operation.

The martyred youth have been identified as Basharat Ahmad and Tariq Ahmad. »
