OIC summit reiterates support for Kashmiris

Srinagar, June 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai has said that situation in Kashmir has become one of the greatest human rights crises in history, marked by wanton killings, detentions and disappearances at the hands of Indian occupational forces.

Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said the international forums like OIC and the Security Council should take concrete action to effectively protect civilians in the occupied territory. He said the United Nations has failed to fulfill its duties throughout its history. He reiterated his appeal to the world community to resolve the Kashmir dispute in the interest of humanity. »

Srinagar, June 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, shab-e-Qadr also known as Laylat-ul-Qadr was observed with religious zeal and gaiety across Jammu and Kashmir, last night.

People offered nightlong prayers and recited holy Quran in mosques and shrines across Kashmir. Shab-e-Qadr, celebrated on the 27th night of Ramadan every year, is extolled in the tradition as “better than 1000 months”. During this night, Muslims spend most of the time reciting Quran, and offering special Ramadan prayers (Taraweeh). »

Srinagar, June 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of mourners attended the funeral prayers of two youth martyred by the Indian troops in a village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

As the bodies of Abid Manzoor Magary of Navpora Payeen, Pulwama and Bilal Ahmad Butt of Armulla Lassipora reached their native villages, thousands of mourners converged there and participated in their last rites. »

Jammu, June 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, an Indian soldier committed suicide in Jammu district.

The Indian army man Yogesh Singh (27) was found hanging with a tree near an abandoned building at 16 Corps unit in Nagrota area of the district.

The Indian army soldier was presently posted at 16 Corps, Nagrota, area of city outskirts in Jammu,” a police official said. He said the after postmortem conducted at Government Medical College and Hospital in Jammu, the body was handed over to the Indian Army authorities. »

Yousef Aldobeay appointed as OIC’s special envoy for Kashmir

Islamabad, June 02 (KMS): The 14th session of the OIC Summit in Makkah reiterated the Conference’s principled support for the legitimate right to self determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with UN resolutions.

Referring to the UN Kashmir report of 2018, the Final Communique of the Conference called for expedited establishment of a UN Commission of Inquiry to investigate the grave human rights violations and urged India to allow the Commission and other international organizations access to IOK. »
