Srinagar, June 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League, Masarrat Aalam Butt who was shifted from Jammu jail to New Delhi’s Tihar Jail on Monday, has been given into the custody of New Delhi’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) for 10 days.

A JKML spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Masarrat Aalam Butt was presented before Patiala House Court on Tuesday, which sent him into the custody of NIA for 10 days.

The spokesman said that Masarrat Aalam Butt continues to remain behind bars for the past nine years, during which judicial houses themselves quashed his detention 37 times, but Indian rulers under the intoxication of the arrogance of power disobeyed the court orders.”

According to a statement, “Authorities are detaining him under PSAs on frivolous charges, one after another, just to victimize him “.

“It is the worst demonstration of political vendetta. 38th PSA on Masarrat Aalam in a row and now sending him to NIA custody in connection with fabricated charges is the worst kind of state sponsored terrorism,” he added.

The spokesman urged Human Rights Council, International Committee of Red Cross, Amnesty International, Bar Association of occupied Kashmir and all other human rights organizations to take strong note of illegal detention of Masarrat Aalam Butt and play their role for his early release.
