Srinagar, June 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai has paid rich tributes to Tufail Mattoo on the eve of his 9th martyrdom anniversary.

Tufail Mattoo, a student of 9th class, was killed after being hit by a teargas shell fired by Indian police near Ghani Memorial Stadium in Srinagar on this day in 2010 when he was returning home from tuition. His killing had triggered massive anti-India demonstrations in the territory and over 120 protesters were martyred by Indian troops and police personnel within a period of three months in 2010.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs were unmatched which had centre-staged the Kashmir dispute at the international level and the people of Kashmir are indebted to the sacrifices of these martyrs.

Meanwhile, he strongly condemned the arrest of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat activists, Tariq Ahmed Sheikh and Farooq Ahmed Sheikh of Bandipora a day before the Eid-ul-Fitr.
