Amnesty asks for immediate repeal of PSA

Srinagar, June 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh acts of state terrorism martyred two more Kashmiri youth in Islamabad and Sopore, today, taking the number of youth martyred in the territory to 5 since yesterday.

The troops martyred one youth in firing on KP Road in Islamabad while the other youth was martyred during a violent cordon and search operation at Wadoora in Sopore area of Baramulla district. One youth was killed by the troops in the same area of Baramulla district on late Tuesday. The troops had martyred two other youth Shakir Ahmed and Sayaar Ahmed and destroyed two residential houses during a similar operation in Awneera area of Shopian district, yesterday. The occupation authorities suspended internet service in Sopore town and ordered closure of all educational institutions in the Sub-division.

Earlier, five troops belonging to the Centre Reserve Police Force were killed and seven other troops including a Station House Officer were injured in an attack at KP Road in Islamabad district. »

Srinagar June 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani reacting to the verdict in the rape and murder case of a Kathua minor girl, Aasifa, has said that the beastly act of kidnapping, drug intoxication, gang-rape and murder, qualifies for the maximum punishment.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said, “This inhuman act has shattered every soul under a well-knit conspiracy aimed at harassing and throwing this poor and helpless community out of their own locality.” »

Srinagar June 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, five personnel of Central Reserve Police Force were killed and seven including a police officer injured in an attack at KP Road in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district on Wednesday late afternoon.

A police official confirmed that the bodies of CRPF personnel were lying at Janglat Mandi hospital. »

Srinagar, June 12 (KMS): The world human rights watchdog Amnesty International has demanded immediate repeal of draconian law, Public Safety Act, in occupied Kashmir saying that the PSA is contributing to inflaming tensions between the occupation authorities and local population.

The Amnesty International in a statement said the Public Safety Act (PSA) circumvents the criminal justice system in Kashmir to undermine accountability, transparency and respect for human. »

New Delhi, June 12 (KMS): Amnesty International India-chapter has cancelled its Srinagar event slated for today (June 12, 2019) because the Srinagar district administration has denied them permission, a spokesperson of the human rights watchdog said.

The Amnesty in letters to the newspapers said, “This is to inform you that the event has been cancelled as district administration has denied permission,” the single line information was delivered to the newsrooms of Kashmir-based newspapers, which were earlier invited to cover the event. »

Brussels, June 12 (KMS): Speakers at a welcome get together while opposing the Indian government’s de-limitation plan have said that the move is aimed at abrogating Kashmir specific Articles 370 and 35-A to change the demographic composition of occupied Kashmir.

The event was organized by MEP Professor Klaus Buchner in Brussels in honour of the newly elected parliamentarians in the European Parliament in collaboration with the Organization of Kashmir Coalition (OKC). New Delhi, June 12 (KMS): Does a country like India need an enemy to destroy its warplanes when its air force has lost around a dozen aircraft in less than six months, this year, the latest being an AN-32, whose wreckage was spotted on Tuesday in a heavily-forested mountainous terrain in Arunachal Pradesh, eight days after it went missing after taking off from Assam’s Jorhat on June 03.

From Mirage 2000 to MiG-27, many of these aircraft had crashed in the month of February, officials said. In January, a Jaguar aircraft of the Indian Air Force had crashed in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar district, local police had said. »

Srinagar June 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has strongly condemned the inhuman and barbaric attitude of the Indian jail authorities towards the incarcerated pro-freedom leadership and the young activists lodged in jails in and outside the territory.

The JRL in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed its grave concern on the plight of all political prisoners belonging to the freedom movement of Kashmir at the hands of jail administration, who have turned these jails into hell like interrogation centers by denying basic amenities to the detainees. »
