Srinagar, June 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) has slammed a Delhi court for sending illegally detained party Chairman, Masarrat Aalam Butt, to judicial custody till 12th July.

The JKML spokesman, Sajad Ayoubi, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Delhi’s Patiala court on Friday sent resistance leaders, Masarrat Aalam Butt, Shabbir Ahmed Shah and Aasiya Andrabi to judicial custody till July 12 in a fake case.

He said that the additional Sessions Judge, Anil Antil, sent them to judicial custody after India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) did not seek their further custody.

Masarrat Aalam is behind the bars for the last nine years during which judicial houses themselves have quashed his illegal detention orders under draconian law, Public Safety Act, 37 times but the Indian authorities have disobeyed the court orders, the spokesman deplored.

He said the India is keeping Masarrat Aalam under illegal detention just to victimize him. It is the worst demonstration of political vendetta, he added.

The spokesman urged the world human rights bodies to take strong note of the illegal detention of Masarrat Aalam Butt and play their role for his early release along with other unlawfully detained Hurriyat leaders and activists.
