Protest in Srinagar against thrashing of Sikh driver in Delhi » Kashmir Media Service

Srinagar, June 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, members of Sikh community held a protest demonstration in Srinagar against the thrashing of a Sikh driver and disrespect of Sikh symbols in New Delhi.

The members of Sikh community under the banner of Gurmat Taksal IGS, J&K, assembled at Press Enclave, today, and staged the protest demonstration against the thrashing of a Sikh driver by police in New Delhi.

“A Sikh auto diver and his son were brutally beaten and his kesh (hair) and turban were disrespected,” said a protesting Sikh member.

The protesting members appealed international human rights bodies to intervene in the matter. They also urged the Indian government to take strict action against the people who hurt religious sentiments. “We also demand that strict law should be passed to prevent such incidents in the future,” they added.

Similar protest demonstration against the incident was held by Sikh and Muslim youth in Tral area of Pulwama, yesterday.
